ENGLISH LANGUAGE CHALLENGES

Last year I had an English course, but for different reasons I had few classes, so I feel that I have really improved my English in the course of this semester. I feel that learning a language with online classes is not difficult, the bad thing is having problems with the internet or with the computer, but apart from that I think that the class has worked well.

I think that what I find most difficult in English is to listen to it and understand correctly some words or the sense of the sentence, and the pronunciation and fluency when speaking it. In the other aspects like reading or writing I feel that I’m better, but I have to improve. The best way to work on my English is to practice constantly to incorporate it which in that sense is complicated because as I don't need to use it in my daily life I stop practicing it. However, I'm always listening to it, mainly in music and series and movies because I prefer to watch them with the original audio and subtitles and somehow I'm learning new words and increasing my vocabulary.

English is present in many things so improving it would be very useful not only for entertainment things but also for informative things or university related things. I hope in the future to be able to read a book or article without depending on the translator haha or to be able to watch a movie without the need to put subtitles and understand everything correctly.

Changes to my Study programme

Hi!! Today I'm going to talk about some changes I'd like to make in my career, which is psychology.

Thinking about what I would like to change in my study programme is a difficult thing to do since I am quite content with the subjects we have. At first I felt that there were some subjects that were not so related to the career but without however, I believe that they are useful in some way to have a more general knowledge of society, so I don't know if I'd change. I'd like the co-curricular activities to be less than what we're required to do, because it takes up time that we could use for the work and study of the subjects of the career  that many times generates us a lot of academic load, in addition it seems to be difficult you can take what you like because there are few quotas.

About the teching methods I would like to see more dynamic or interactive activities implemented, where the use of technology is a good choice, but in the end depends on the teacher. About the buildings and infrastructure of the faculty is not so bad, but compared to other faculties It could definitely be better. For example, the rooms in the old building are a little bit uncomfortable, but in the end you get used to it.

Pandemic and Quarantine

Fortunately I live in a city where there are no active cases of coronavirus, therefore we have not been in quarantine all this time, however we go out only for things necessary to respect the social distance. we all try to help out around the house and accompany each other. It has been difficult to be away from our loved ones, but at least we have platforms to talk to our friends and family, which helps a lot in dealing with this quarantine context.

I think it’s a good opportunity as a society to really understand that it’s very important to overcome something like what we are living with empathy and conscience because it’s about thinking about others, not only about how it can affect you, since by respecting the hygiene and quarantine measures it’s not only to take care of yourself but to take care of all the other people.

with regard to studies at first I had some problems with the computer, but I have been able to fix them, although sometimes my signal is not very good and I have had some problems in some classes. This online mode has disorganized me and it's annoying to have to read so much on the computer, but I guess I'll get used to it because even though I try to be optimistic I think this pandemic is far from being controlled.
